Clinical staff development workshop

This intensive one- or two-week workshop is aimed at clinicians as well as teachers and laboratory researchers in medical-related fields. Delegates meet with counterparts from Oxford to discuss clinical practice and education, learn about the multiple interactions between Oxford and the NHS, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The programme can provide a general overview across medical specialities or can be tailored to match the particular interests of delegates.

Course content

Oxford Prospects Short Programme is designed for academically gifted university students from overseas. Students will sleep, dine and study in buildings hired from the historic colleges of Oxford. Our programmes of talks, activities and trips introduce students to life and culture in the UK as well as the opportunities available for postgraduate study and careers in Oxford and elsewhere.
Activities are selected for each course and will not be exactly the same on every programme. As a guide, our summer and winter programmes typically include:

Counsellor and welfare training

This three-week course in Oxford introduces counselling and other pastoral staff from overseas universities to student welfare systems at Oxford and in the UK. These systems are discussed in the context of student life in general, including admissions, accommodation, careers, disability, etc. By visiting several universities, delegates have an opportunity to learn about features of student welfare provision common across the UK higher education sector as well as practices distinctive to individual universities with their own ethos and structure.
