FAQ

How do you collaborate with Oxford University?

Oxford Prospects Programmes is an independent organisation with no formal affiliation to Oxford University or to the colleges that we use as venues. We are aiming to do something quite different from the University, and we do not award academic qualifications or University certificates. However, our students will gain some impression of Oxford University, because we hire university and college buildings for accommodation and teaching, and many of our tutors are Oxford University academics.

Will you provide any help on my passport and visa application?

We can provide this service for a fee. We will issue visa invitation letters if requested.

Will you book flights for us?

We will not book flights for you, but can recommend ticketing agencies.

Where will we live in Oxford?

Students on the Oxford International Youth Academy and many of our other programmes live in colleges of Oxford University, in private or twin rooms. College allocation is random and we cannot guarantee that you will stay in a particular college. Students on some of our courses have the option to live in Oxford hotels.

Is the accommodation cost included in the total fees? How about food?

The fees include accommodation and meals, including meals for special occasions such as the final dinner. Some meals are taken communally. For other meals we have arrangements with local restaurants to accept our meal vouchers.

Will we visit places outside Oxford?

Yes, we will go on several cultural visits during the programme. Venues for visits on our student programmes include among others London, Bath, Blenheim Palace and Broughton Castle. The exact venues for trips vary from programme to programme.

Will there be any additional cost after we arrive?

No, costs such as tours and entry to sites are included in the fees. You advised to bring a small amount of cash for souvenirs, snacks, etc., and for travel on free days if you wish to leave Oxford. We suggest no more than £200 per week of the programme.
