Experiencing China is a summer programme hosted by and based at Tsinghua University, a leading research and higher education institution located in Beijing on the elegant and historical site of formal imperial gardens. This prestigious course sponsors overseas students from approximately 20 countries to spend a fortnight learning and living together, as they examine challenging global issues, exchange collaborative ideas, and explore contemporary China.
Students follow a highly structured programme, with in-depth study on an interdisciplinary “track”, selected from themes such as environment, international relations, industry frontiers, urbanisation, gender. Keynote lectures by distinguished professors and leading experts are complemented by interactive classes and panel sessions, field trips and excursions, cultural, sport and social activities. Teaching is conducted in English, with students assessed on class participation, essay assignments and final presentation. The programme concludes with a Formal Dinner, with participants often forming lasting connections with a network of peers from across the globe.
Scholarship funding covers the core costs of tuition, administrative fee and university accommodation.
